A quilt for Maxine.

Step Outside the Circle
I said last week, when I started writing again, that I would go back and post some of the things this I finished/made in 2012.   I actually finished this quilt in 2011 and named it Step Outside the Circle,  I may have written about it in back then, but it leads to the story of a quilt I did finish in 2012.

My friend, Maxine, was over and I was showing her this quilt.  She loved it and I think she's right when she says that black, red and white make for a crisp looking quilt.

The next day Maxine gave me a call and asked if she could have that quilt.  Now, for those of you that know me, know I would have given her that quilt in an instant, but I had done some pretty detailed quilting and was a little attached to it.  She understood and was very happy when I said I would make her a black red and white quilt.  She said it didn't have to be the same pattern...just had to be those colors.  So this is what I made her.

I'm sure I signed and dated the back but not sure I gave it a name, so it's just Max's quilt to me.  She loved it and keeps it of her sofa and ready to use at any given moment..

For the back, I used up the left over blocks and added some of the black and white fabric I got from Ikea.  The quilt itself went together pretty quick.

The quilt pattern I used for mine was "Nine-Patch with an Attitude"
I named it: Step Outside the Circle
Pieced and quilted by me, Pam O.

Sorry, I don't have the pattern name for the quilt I did for Maxine.
Pieced by me, Pam O
Machine quilted by Sue Salinger.

Warm Hugs,
Pam O

  1. I love both of them Pam! Really, really nice. I never finished my 9 patch with attitude. I should hunt for it.
